WARDOGS Season 2 weapons: which are worth buying
The short answer
- Season 2 added four weapons: the TCX Spear (AR), M14 (DMR), PP-19 Bizon (SMG) and Evo-3 Ultra (LMG).
- PP-19 Bizon is the easiest recommend — a large magazine forgives the mistakes new players make.
- M14 rewards players who can place single shots; it is not a panic weapon.
- TCX Spear is the safe modern AR pick if you already like that platform family.
- Evo-3 Ultra only makes sense if you are playing Support and holding ground.
- Early Access balance moves: buy what works this week, not what a tier list said last month.
Season 2 brought four new weapons and reshuffled what each class can bring to a fight. Since WARDOGS is still in Early Access, every judgement here comes with an expiry date — but the reasoning behind each pick should survive the next balance pass.
Instead of a single ranked list, this is organised by what job you need done, because a weapon that is excellent in one role is a liability in another.
TCX Spear — the safe assault rifle
Role: Assault. Feel: modern platform, predictable recoil, familiar handling if you have played other tactical shooters.
The Spear is the least interesting addition and probably the one most players should buy. It does not have a trick — it has consistency, which is what wins objective fights. If you like the game's other assault rifles, this is a sidegrade rather than a transformation; if you find them unwieldy, the Spear is the friendlier option.
- Buy if: you play Assault and want a rifle you do not have to think about.
- Skip if: you already have a rifle you shoot well. Consistency is not worth re-learning a weapon mid-season.
PP-19 Bizon — the forgiving SMG
Role: Medic, close-quarters Assault. Feel: large magazine, forgiving in sustained fights.
This is the easiest recommendation in the batch. Medics fight at revive range, often while moving, often against more than one attacker — a big magazine means fewer reloads at exactly the moment reloading kills you. New players should buy this before anything else on the list.
Why magazine size matters more than damage here: the Medic's job is to still be alive when the revive finishes. Running dry mid-fight is the most common way medics die with a full medical bag.
M14 — the disciplined DMR
Role: Recon. Feel: semi-auto, rewards placement, punishes spraying.
The M14 sits between a sniper and a battle rifle. It lets a Recon contribute at medium range without carrying a weapon that is useless inside a building — which is exactly the trade-off most Recon players struggle with. It is not a panic weapon: if you are surprised at close range, the M14 will not save you.
- Buy if: you play Recon and keep finding yourself in the 50–150 metre band where a bolt-action is too slow.
- Skip if: you play Recon as a pure long-range watcher. A dedicated sniper still owns that job.
Evo-3 Ultra — the position holder
Role: Support. Feel: belt-fed, best when you are not the one moving.
A support weapon only earns its price when you are defending something worth defending. Holding a fortified zone with a belt-fed weapon and a resupply is a completely different experience from trying to push with one. If you play Support as a mobile builder, you are paying for firepower you will rarely use.
Quick verdict table
| Weapon | Class | Best for | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| PP-19 Bizon | Medic | Close-range revives, sustained fights | Buy first — most forgiving gun in the game |
| TCX Spear | Assault | General objective fighting | Safe buy, no surprises |
| M14 | Recon | Medium-range support | Good if your positioning is good |
| Evo-3 Ultra | Support | Defending fortifications | Situational — only for position holders |
The Early Access caveat, stated plainly
WARDOGS patches frequently, and Season 2's launch balance is not Season 2's final balance. Two things to do instead of trusting any list, including this one:
- Test in a low-stakes match. Buy the weapon, use it for one life, judge how it feels rather than how it reads.
- Re-read the patch notes after every update. Damage, recoil, and price changes have already altered which weapon is "best" twice this season.
Spending reminder: a new weapon is a repeat cost every life. If a gun costs more than your income per life supports, you have bought a permanent tax on your bank, not an upgrade.
